What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle energy-healing practice based on the belief that life energy flows through every living being. When that energy feels depleted or out of balance, we may experience stress, tension, or emotional unease. During a Reiki session, a practitioner gently channels energy through their hands to encourage balance and relaxation. Sessions are offered with care, clear boundaries, and respect for each person’s comfort. How Reiki May Support You Reiki provides an opportunity to slow down, breathe, and step away from the demands of everyday life. The calm environment and gentle attention may help the nervous system settle into a more relaxed state, allowing the mind and body to rest. Many people report feeling calmer, more grounded, or emotionally balanced following a session. Reiki is not a replacement for medical or mental health treatment, but it can be a supportive addition to your overall wellness and self-care routine. What You May Experience During a session, you may notice warmth, tingling, gentle pulsing, or a subtle sense of energy moving through your body. You might experience deep relaxation, see colors, have emotions arise, or drift into a light sleep. You may also feel very little—and that is completely normal. Every person and every session is different. Not experiencing a noticeable sensation does not mean the session was unsuccessful. Some people recognize subtle changes afterward, such as feeling more rested, centered, or at ease. You do not need to believe in energy healing or consider yourself spiritual to receive Reiki. There is nothing you need to accomplish during the session. You can simply arrive as you are and allow yourself time to pause. Reiki for Animals Reiki can also be gently shared with animals. Like people, animals can experience stress, tension, and emotional changes. Because each animal has individual needs and boundaries, Reiki is always offered with patience and respect for their comfort and choice. The animal is free to move around, rest at a distance, or approach the practitioner. Reiki meets them where they are, allowing them to receive the experience in their own way. A Gentle Invitation Reiki isn’t about magic or forcing change. It is a gentle opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and create room for rest. If you have ever wondered whether Reiki is for you, curiosity is enough. Come as you are, breathe, and allow yourself to receive.
